The Bishop Reunion

Whew, what a weekend we had. We spent the entire weekend at the Bishop Reunion. We had a great time. Ali did wonderful. Of course, Mommy, Ali, and Gr. Fifi stayed in a hotel while Daddy and Gr. Bobby camped. We just didn't think Ali was up for tent camping quite yet. The weather was great. Not overly hot and the rain was light and spotty enough that it didn't effect any of our activities.
Ali really enjoyed the talent show. She just stared in amazement at the performers, she especially LOVED the Mickey Mouse and Pluto that showed up. She was open mouthed and wide eyed at those guys! It was toooo precious.
We are already looking forward to next year. Ali has two cousins that are within her age by 2 months so in the future she has a lot of mischief up her sleeve with those two....I'm sure!!!!

A Happy Father's Day and a Happy Healthy 6-month old

We hope that every Dad out there had a great Father's Day. We sure did. Unfortunately I did have to work ALL weekend...Fri/Sat/Sun, but we had help. Chris' parents came Saturday and the boys went golfing while Gr. Fifi had one on one time with Ali. They treated us to Chili's before I went to work. Then on Sunday my parents came down and they treated us to Applebee's before I went to work and my mom stayed on to help out both Mon and Tues. We got Chris a money clip for Father's Day to let him know that he is the best Dad out there and he is just gold in Ali's eyes!!!! On Monday we also went to Ali's 6-month check-up. Everything went really well. We are 13# 2 oz and 26 inches long. Healthy as can be. Good head control and strong tone. We did get our shots and we seem to be doing the best we have ever done with those. Thank heavens for that!! We do have to see a pediatric opthalmologist for her L tear duct stenosis. Other than that, meeting milestones and just being overall sweet as pie in Mommy's eyes :)

Our Denver Vacation

Well, we headed to Denver last Thursday afternoon. Chris wanted to attend the continuing education classes at SLA. We stayed downtown and rented a car. On Friday, after Chris got registered, we went to Vail for the day. It was really fun. There wasn't a lot going on in town except for construction and the Teva Mountain Games, but we enjoyed it nonetheless. Here is Ali and I in Vail. On Saturday Chris had his CE, so Ali and I were on our own. Of course, we went shopping. We met Dada for lunch. Ali got LOTS of compliments on her dewrag headband. Isn't it cute??!!
On Sunday after Chris had another CE we headed to the Colorado Rockies baseball game and lucky us....they were playing Dada's favorite teams the Cincinnati Reds. Unfortunately the Rockies won, but it was a great game. Ali did great and even got a free hat out of it.
On Monday after more conference time, we went up to Estes Park, which is nestled just outside of the Rocky Mountain National Park. Once there we called Melissa (a friend of Kitty's from St. Vincent) who works at Lane Guest Ranch during her summers (http://www.laneguestranch.com/) We got to visit with Melissa, have lunch, see the ranch and its cast of characters as well as finishing off our visit with a great hike to a summit of 9003 ft. You can see the great view below. Thanks Melissa for sharing your afternoon with us, it was a great time!
All in all it was a great combination of work and leisure. Ali did a great job and it was nice to be able to travel with her. With this successful venture we will be sure to do more traveling in the future.
