Random Photos

Here are some random photos from the past few days. Day 10, 11 and 12.

In one dad shows everybody just how small I really am, by comparing my body to his hand.

In the next I show everybody just how mad I can get.

In the last one I show everybody just how small my fingers are next to daddy's.

I'm 10 days old

Hello All!
We had a very nice Christmas and hope that all of you did also!
Ali just wanted to give everyone an update and let them know how she is enjoying her time right now. As you can see from the photos....she loves lying in her pack n' play with the vibrations on, her stuffed Moose enjoys this also :) She also loves her bouncy seat, again with vibrations....do you see a trend here???
Mom, Dad, and Ali are all doing well and continuing to adjust to this new life as a 3-some.

Merry Christmas to all

We have had an eventful weekend. Kitty's parents have been down for the past two days assisting in a ton of different ways and it has been appreciated. Other things that have filled up the days include, nursing, changing, nursing, changing, sleeping etc.... but also we have finished Christmas shopping, watched National Lampoons Christmas Vacation and also shot, published and currently addressing our holiday cards featuring you know who!

Merry Christmas!

More Pictures

Well we have already heard from plenty of people waiting and wanting to see more photos of our Ali girl. Before that I wanted to take a moment and update everybody. As of Wednesday night, our little family of three has checked out of the hospital and we are currently resting? comfortably at home.

I immediately gave Alison a tour of her new home and especially "her room," she told me she was exceptionally pleased with the size of her walk-in-closet.

We have already had a sponge bath and photo session, we are forgoing Christmas cards this year for New Year's Cards as time has been pinched this holiday season.

Kitty is doing well. For those who do not know, little Ali was not to keen on coming out on Monday but once she did Kit's tailbone was fractured... ouch! I guess everybody in the delivery room heard it pop except dad, which is a good thing because I was a trooper but that may have sent me over the edge. Enough with those details, however, this is going to set back Kit's recovery, but we have already discovered what a wonderful support network we have! All of you! Friends, family, co-workers, neighbors the list goes on.

O.k. here is what you came for:

Thank you!

Kitty and I wanted to take a moment and thank everyone for their encouragement the last few days. It was a long weekend, but we made it through! And Alison is absolutely beautiful!

It was fun to share our progress throughout this process with everyone, but it was even more fun to share responses and comments to Kitty during her labor process, so again Thank you!

Mom, Dad and Alison are going to hole up in their room now, as the visitors start to stream in, mostly those who are wanting to see this little tike in person vs. on this blog!

Here is the end result below:

Alison Rebecca Bishop

Welcome Alison Rebecca Bishop to the world. 6 pounds 6 ounces. 20 inches long. 5:57 p.m. December 18th 2006

Getting ready to start pushing

2:50 p.m.
Kitty will begin pushing within the next 30 minutes!

5 CM

1:04 p.m.
We hit a milestone.... 5cm !!!!!

Kitty is a warrior

10:18 a.m.
Well we have been here since 2:00 p.m. yesterday. Kit started having strong contractions around 11:00 p.m. and she just threw in the towel about 15 minutes ago and agreed to an epidural.

I just want to let everybody know how proud I am of her and strong she is. She went beyond her own limits and took me over the edge emotionally as well, but she is resting very comfortably right now and I think I am going to crawl over to my bench and catch up as well.

Dr. Geuadraux was in at 8:30 and broke Kitty's water so there is no turning back now, we are going to have this baby!

More to come ......

crb

Some progress

6:07 a.m.
We have moved to 3 - 4cm in the past 3 hours. Otherwise no news, all is well.

crb

Ding Ding Ding .... Round 2

3:44 a.m.

We have started the second induction process. Kit actually has progressed well on her own with her contractions up to this point, but the decision has been made to go ahead and induce again.

Kit says, "Hi," while eating some ice chips. We both were able to sleep earlier, although I would have to say I was the one that actual got some sleep and Kitty maybe got some cat naps in.

Currently at 2 cm.

Time to go rub somebody's back!

No new news.....

6:00 p.m.

Kit is sitting up to eat some dinner now. Nothing new to report, we have napped, watched some t.v. and are letting the Cervadil do its work....

There was no dilation change. 1 maybe 2 cm.....

MMMMMmmmmmm hospital food.

Later!

Back at the hospital

2:33 p.m.

We are back at the hospital, and the RN is checking Kit in right now as I type. So I dont have much to do, so I thought I would update everyone. Not much to update however.

We got through the night o.k. got up went for a long walk and had some breakfast. I myself am feeling better, as I have a had a terrible cold, so maybe this extra day and half is a blessing... .more to come...

We are home, no baby yet

9:23 p.m.

We have been discharged from the hospital. Kitty has not progressed as far as the drs had hoped. So they sent us home :( and we are to report back at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow for another go around. However this time they will insert the Cervidex(sp?) which will hopefully make for an easier time when they induce the second time (approx. 2:00 a.m. on Monday morning)

Needless to say we are sad, but hey we know its for the best, today's outcome just was not something that we had even thought about.

So until tomorrow at 2:00 stay tuned... of course things could change before that!

Chris and Kitty Bishop

1 cm

3:30 p.m.

Well it has taken about 10 hours but we are at 1cm! Kitty has just awakened from a nap, they gave her nubain (for some mild pain relief) and this has her feeling a little better.

Bobby/Sheryl and Tom/Becki have arrived as well.

We will keep you updated.

Induction has begun

11:10 a.m.
We have been at the hospital since 5:30 this morning, and we have been at it since 6:00, Kitty made it through the I.V. ok. (she does not like needles) -- It is currently 11 in the morning and contractions or 2 to 3 minutes apart, with no dilation that we know of..... More to come.....

Countdown is on

Christmas Baby?

Probably not, but we are preparing for the holidays none the less!

6 Days

new baby

Less than a week away

Just thought we would update everybody on our current status. Kit had an appointment yesterday and all is well. She is due in less than a week, but we are both getting very anxious.

Kitty has finished up work, which makes me and her family happy, but she was a big time trooper and worked right up just past the 39th week! Including 5 out of 6 nights at the end. But she is done now!

So we will try and keep everybody updated and let you know -- you never know you just might find out here first!

37 Week Ultrasound Photos

Kitty had a 37 week ultrasound yesterday. The doctor felt as though she may be measuring a tad small and wanted to make sure that all was well. (Appropriate amniotic fluid etc...)

The ultrasound went well, and Baby Bishop is just a tick under 6 pounds at the moment, with three weeks to go! The tech ran the numbers (sizes) by a physician so there was nothing too crazy going on. Kit will see her ususal doctor next Monday.

With out further waiting here are the photos. The first is what we like to call "the pouting pose" the second is the "smooching pose" and the third is the "suck on my hand pose" Enjoy. I framed the first one so you would know what you are looking at.....

Time for More Video... belly button

Here is another baby movement video. Watch the belly button! It is kind of long, the best part is right at the beginning.

Also if you watch the slideshow on the post below, be sure to move or hover your mouse over the top of pictures and a slide bar will appear where you can slow down or hurry the photos along. It gives a nice effect to the slideshow if you make the photos change faster.

Nine years ago today

Nine years ago today Kitty and I went on our first date together and although this is not really baby related, I wanted to inform everybody and show a picture from nine years ago and one from today. The first is from 1997 at a instant photo booth in the Muncie mall and the second is from tailgating in Muncie 3 weeks ago. Enjoy!

Painting the nursery

I thought I would update everyone on our nursery, since it is the only thing we have really been working on this weekend. It is looking good so far and coming together nicely. We hope to finish the painting in the next few evenings. Then we can get to work on the rest of the arranging and decorating. We have already purchased our furniture, sans a few smaller items, and that crib is still waiting for me to assemble it!
