Holiday World
We headed to Holiday World a few weekends ago. We had an amazing time. I recommend the park and Lake Rudolph to anybody. The park has something for everyone, even the little ones--lots actually. The swimpark is amazing....Chris could have "played" forever! We enjoyed ourselves immensely and will be heading back again next year, I'm sure!
Probably my favorite photo of the weekend, she was just tickled to be driving this car and Chris of course was being completely goofy with her. This pic captures her true smile and laugh!
Ready to ride--a lot of the rides are for kids 54" and shorter which means even parents can't ride. Funny feeling to watch your little girl get on rides and go up/down/round and round all by herself, but she REALLY enjoys all of them!
Bumper boats--another favorite!
Well, you can't be in Santa Claus, IN and not meet Santa himself, right?! Not the best quality of photo but here we are.
Her own Ali sized carousel.
Canoeing down the river.
Our 1st ride of the park, the big girl carousel--she chose this rabbit with HUGE ears!

Trying to play catch up
We've been busy and I'm falling behind blogging on all of our fun activities!! So this post is dedicated to State Fair Fun!!!
We had a great day but it was HOT! Luckily we waited until late afternoon so that sun started to go down some while we were there.
Yes we did enjoy some yummy fair food. Between all of us we consumed the Pigs in the Mud (chocolate covered bacon), deep fried Wisconsin cheese, deep fried pizza, hotdog, and a Hooks fountain chocolate coke--yum!
All in all...a really fun day!
Here is Ali and I on the ferris wheel, she was really excited about riding it but I think she discovered that it doesn't "do" much. Afterwards she said, "I didn't like it that much"! Funny!!

Alaska Vacation 2009
We had a wonderful week! Many thanks to Mark, Becky, London, Poppy, and Indigo for opening up their home and time to us. If you were to head to Talkeetna, Alaska and Wasilla, Alaska for a family vacation, these are some of the sights you just might see:

A Wedding
We headed to Wabash on Saturday for my friend Casey's wedding. Casey and I went to school together but became good friends when we lived together in college for 3 years. She stood up with me in my wedding and also sang. She was a beautiful bride and we wish her and Tyler many wonderful years of wedded bliss!
So to get Alison remotely interested in going to this wedding and reception we talked about how the bride would look like a princess and we would get cake at a party. That pretty much sold her :)
Headed out the door to the event. If you think Alison's dress is as adorable as I do you can find it at www.trendysisters.com!
So this picture is absolutely amazing. First, she has never met Tyler before in her life. Second, Ali can be quite shy, and third, she went up to him all by herself and asked him to dance. He asked her if she wanted to stand or be picked up....shocker..she wanted to be picked up! They danced through most of a sang. Of course, knowing Ali I can tell how reserved she was being b/c she wouldn't keep her hands out of her mouth, but I thought it was a precious and very brave moment for her.

Wow, this will be a long one
We headed home last Wed. night to enjoy the Wabash County 4-H Fair, time with family, and a general little vacation from regular life :)
Enjoying a little pre-fair drink...had to share this pic b/c I loved her facial expression and piggies!
OOOHHH, they do make pink tractors!
Teaching her my LOVE of pigs, especially 4-H hogs
Probably her favorite this year...the bunnies!
Or wait, I'm pretty sure this was her favorite.....the rides. She was a true little carnie kid, loved ALL of them and rode them multiple times.
To round out our trip we did some corn shucking with Fifi and Bobby. Look at these hands at work.
Thanks to our families for taking time to play, visit, eat, and entertain. We look forward to it EVERY year!
